The Upper Rogue Moose Lodge 2480, located at: 61 Alder St., Shady Cove, has been serving the Upper Rogue Community since June 1997. The Shady Cove Moose Lodge is very active in the community providing serves ranging from road clean-up beautification which is done quarterly, raising money for children in the community that need school supplies, clothes and providing "Christmas Kids", to create a Merry Christmas for needy children. Freddie O'Donnell gathers clothing for the needy and sells advertising to donate the money to the WOTM that sponsor the "Christmas Kids". The "Tommy Moose" dolls are distributed by lodge members to law enforcement, nursing, and social work personnel who are in the best position to determine when a child is in distress. "Tommy Moose" purpose is to provide comfort for children in distress by giving them a stuffed animal; specifically, a cute brown moose with a red sweater with "Tommy Moose" embroidered on the front. Their commitment goes further than this by joining together with the Shady Cove Fire Department, Shady Cove Police Department, Upper Rogue Community Center , Shady Cove Middle School and Elk Trail School to supply leadership and furnish manpower in support of worthwhile community service...with an emphasis on youth. The Moose takes the initiative in doing what needs to be done in the community. Membership dues are: $40 for Men and $30 for Women.
