| January Snowshoe Hikes Snowmobiling
|
In January, everyone lays back in
Shady Cove. This is a time that we like to spend with our family
and friends, watching football, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sledding and
yes, fishing.
If you didn't take my advise last year to go snowshoeing, you really missed out a fun activity that your whole family can do! Crater Lake offers Free, Ranger-Guided Snowshoe Hikes every Saturday & Sunday at 1:00 p.m. This event is going on now through the month of April The hikes cover a mile of moderately difficult terrain through forest, meadows and along the crater's rim, and last for about 90 minutes. This is so much fun and great exercise. If you don't have snowshoes, they will provide them free of charge, so you don't have any excuse. Flag
Day, June 14th, marks the anniversary of the adoption by Congress in
1777 of the Stars and Stripes as emblem of the nation. Celebrations of

history. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson, and later, in 1927,
President Calvin Coolidge, suggested that 14 June be observed as Flag
Day. It was not until 3 August 1949 that the National Flag Day Bill
became law, giving official recognition to 14 June to celebrate the
flag. Join the URCC
